Turn a PDF into an Excel Worksheet!

Availability

It's important to note that the From PDF feature is currently available on the Beta Channel (formerly Insiders Fast) for Microsoft/Office 365 subscribers. It will be rolling out to other channels in the coming months. I don't have a timeline on the release, and apologize in advance if yous don't accept access to information technology all the same.

Steps to Import a PDF into Excel

Here are the steps to import the PDF file to Excel:

  1. Starting from the Data tab on the Ribbon, click on Get Data, then From File, then From PDF.
  2. Find the PDF file wherever you lot have it stored on your computer. And then click on Import.
  3. The Navigator window volition appear, showing a listing of all the data sets that Power Query has found in your PDF. At the top of the listing will be private sets of data tables, and at the bottom it is broken downward by page. If you lot want to import more one information set up, cheque the box that says Select multiple items.
  4. Select the detail or items that you want to import.
  5. Click on Transform Data.
